Problems with digital:

The worst problem from a viewer's point of view is there is no such thing as reduced reception.  Digital signals are either there or they are not - there is no in-between state.  So in the event of particularly bad weather, the signal will not merely become "fuzzy" - it will drop-out (disappear) - to which your TV responds by repeating whatever information it has until some more arrives - this is why the picture sometimes freezes.  This can also be caused by birds, aircraft (and UFOs) getting between your receiver and the transmitter!

Surround Sound (5.1 sound)

High Definition programmes (on Sky TV and Freesat) and many pre-recorded DVDs are produced in Surround Sound.  This will require 5 loudspeakers (Front Left, Centre & Right, and Rear Left & Right) and a Low Frequency Effects loudspeaker  (a sub-bass unit).
The effect of this can make films, music videos, dramas and large events come to life.

There are also a number of music recordings made in Surround Sound (in the form of SACD or DVD-Audio discs).  These require a player capable of decoding these particular formats but are also very rewarding.
